13th Week with Typhoon Kristen
This week was a “cooldy” (cool + cloudy) and rainy kind of week. Typhoon Kristen swept through Luzon, causing heavy damage to countless infrastructures and leaving a trail of bad news in its wake. Because of the typhoon, our classes were suspended multiple times, giving me an unexpected break but also some strange rhythms to my days—I ended up taking naps about three times each day, not really knowing what else to do during the downtime.💤💤
"In the calm before the storm, there’s time to rest; but in the calm after the storm, there’s time to rebuild."
"Sometimes, a pause in the journey is a reminder to breathe, but it’s also a sign that the road ahead will require our strength."
I was resting until I read the new way back home...
My mama told me that, back home, the strong winds lifted our dining area roof. Hearing about this damage made me think about how powerful and unpredictable nature can be. Even though I was safe, knowing the typhoon had physically affected our home brought some worries and made everything feel more real. HUHUHU 🥹🫂
Reflections
"When life pauses, responsibilities may wait, but they rarely disappear; they pile up, waiting for us to rise stronger."
Although class suspensions gave me a bit of rest, it also meant that all our assignments, projects, and activities are now piling up and are due next week. I can already feel the weight of what’s ahead, knowing it will be a struggle to complete everything on time. Having that many tasks lined up feels like lifting a huge weight over and over again, especially after a week that was supposed to offer a bit of rest.
"Even when life pushes pause, the journey doesn’t stop; it just gives us a moment to gather strength."
