🌍 Why Learning English is Important? By Chenisa Amor P. Verdida      Have you ever asked yourself why English is often called the “language of the world”? In classrooms, workplaces, and even on our favorite social media platforms, English seems to be everywhere. But beyond being a subject we study, English is a powerful tool that connects people, cultures, and ideas across borders.      Learning English is important because it opens doors to endless opportunities . It serves as a bridge that links us to global communication , allowing us to study abroad, apply for international jobs, and collaborate with people from different countries. learning English doesn’t just help us speak; it helps us belong in a world that values understanding and connection.      It also strengthens our ability to express ourselves with clarity and confidence . Through English, we can share our thoughts, emotions, and creativity with others. Most of the world...

The 16th Week of my Grade 12 Life

Image
"Gamay nalang jud" (kunti nalang) this is the saying that I keep on remembering as this week goes on. This week is soooooo tiring, just like the other weeks that past.  this picture is taken after I fall on the  hole 🕳️ while trying to take a good picture of myself. It was embarrassing but I just shurge it off to lessen the embarrassment I felt. LIFE GOES ONNNN!!!  I was volunteering for red cross that day btw. Looking up, and wondered what will happen tomorrow. The week in school ended up on Thursday, because Friday classes and activities were suspended due to the super typhoon PEPITO.  Realization:   Slow days are so good, and not everyday is as eventful as the other days.

15th Week: Nothing New

Image
This week is the 15th week of school, and it’s my birthday week. Even though it feels like any other busy week with a mountain of schoolwork, I can’t help but feel a little excited. There’s not much time to plan a big celebration, but I hope to take a small break for myself, even if it’s just for a quick treat or a few minutes with a good book. The deadlines are nonstop, and I’m barely keeping up with all the assignments. Still, I want to enjoy my birthday in some small way. Maybe next week, I’ll even get a little gift in the form of less homework! We did practice for our yell for the upcoming intramurals. This is us during the night practice. Realization   I realize now how easily schoolwork can take over, making me forget to pause and enjoy small, happy moments. This birthday week showed me that taking even a little time for myself can make a big difference in how I feel.  "Even in the busiest times, it's important to pause and appreciate ...

14th Week: The Half of Week

Image
This week was a refreshing mix of fun and relaxation with just the right touch of Halloween spookiness! We only had three school days, so everyone seemed to be in a great mood, taking in the short week before heading into a long weekend. The Halloween atmosphere was all around, with decorations and costume ideas being the hot topics. Even though it wasn’t full-on terrifying, the little jump scares from friends and the eerie decorations in the hallways added a slice of excitement and suspense to each day.  this story made my soul get out of my body at midnight 🥹 On our last school day, we wrapped up classes, which was a perfect transition into the long weekend. Everyone was buzzing with excitement, sharing their plans—some going to Halloween parties and cemetery to light up some candles, others just looking forward to relaxing at home. And then vibe this week was exactly what we all needed, a break from the usual school stress, a bit of fun, and a few chills...

13th Week with Typhoon Kristen

Image
This week was a “cooldy” (cool + cloudy) and rainy kind of week. Typhoon Kristen swept through Luzon, causing heavy damage to countless infrastructures and leaving a trail of bad news in its wake. Because of the typhoon, our classes were suspended multiple times, giving me an unexpected break but also some strange rhythms to my days—I ended up taking naps about three times each day, not really knowing what else to do during the downtime.💤💤 "In the calm before the storm, there’s time to rest; but in the calm after the storm, there’s time to rebuild." "Sometimes, a pause in the journey is a reminder to breathe, but it’s also a sign that the road ahead will require our strength." I was resting until I read the new way back home... My mama told me that, back home, the strong winds lifted our dining area roof. Hearing about this damage made me think about how powerful and unpredictable nature can be. Even though I was saf...

12th Week: Week of Weak

Image
Last week felt like just another exhausting week, not much different from the ones before. It was filled with the same hectic rush to meet deadlines, leaving me tired and drained. Each day seemed to blur into the next, all of them carrying the weight of unfinished tasks and pressure to keep going. But what hit me the hardest wasn't the workload, but the feeling of disappointment in people I thought I could rely on. Trust is something I value deeply, and realizing that not everyone sees it the same way was disheartening. Despite pushing myself to meet all those deadlines, I couldn’t shake the feeling of weariness that lingered after each task was completed. No matter how hard I worked, it felt like there was always something more waiting for me. The pressure weighed on me, making even the smallest task feel like a heavy burden. But as difficult as the work was, what affected me more was the sense of disappointment in the people around me. There were moments when I realized that thos...
